Journey to Allensworth Old
Time Jubilee
Christopher Bagley, 11 years old of Rancho
Elementary School:
Question: Chris
what is your best experience about this trip to Allensworth?
The good thing is that young people get to learn their history.
Question: What
could make this more of a fun trip for you and other young
people?
If they had some swings, basketball courts and stuff just
like a regular park.
Question: What
would you bring or do differently the next time you come?
Bring a hat.
Question: What
would you like to see the next time you visit?
I want to visit the hotel on Palmer Ave. It was closed when
we went by.
Question: What
would you like to tell another young person about visiting
Allensworth?
It's fun.
Question: Is
there anything else you would like to add?
It's a long bus ride.
Eric Johnson, 15 years old of Monte Vista High
School:
Question: Eric,
what is your best experience about this trip to Allensworth?
I felt that this was a fun trip even though I slept a few
hours on the way. The bus ride was tiring but not really boring.
Tours of the town homes, stores and churches were pretty cool.
I got to see how tings were before high technology existed.
I found out what an "outhouse" looked liked.
Question: What
could make this more of a fun trip for you and other young
people?
On the way home we should go to an all you can eat buffet
restaurant and watch regular TV shows between movies. Also
the park should have more games for kids to play so they can
win prizes.
Question: What
would you bring or do differently the next time you come?
I'll bring my Gameboy and a note pad and pencil so I can draw.
Question: What
would you like to see the next time you visit?
I want to see inside the buildings that were locked and to
ride the hay wagons
Question: What
would you like to tell another young person about visiting
Allensworth?
At first I thought it was about school
and didn't want to go but when I realized it wasn't I was
okay with going. I some times don't want to be around a lot
of people. Then I thought about it and decided since there
was nothing to do at home that I'd go. This was fun. I would
go again.
Question: Is
there anything else you would like to add?
I just think it was fun watching everyone
do their acts on stage, I was just fun..
